Hi Uwe,

Hi,
as written month ago there is a problem with meego mailing lists. See this
https://bugs.meego.com/show_bug.cgi?id=11778
At the moment there are at least two versions of the qa and community
Please select not more than one list for one topic. At the moment we are
getting at leastwo groups of subscribers.
Ciao Uwe

Did the bug fixed? It would be a trouble for meego.

My problem is as follows:

I installed all gnome related packages in the meego-netbook using meego
own repo.But the gnome-session displayed abnormally,only gnome-pnael
displayed.
I think its the window manager's problem, gnome using metacity and meego
using mutter.

Thanks.

Status of bugs can be seen in their reports. See
https://bugs.meego.com/show_bug.cgi?id=11778 : Not fixed yet.

Please **DO NOT** post off-topic stuff in a random other thread just to
get your question answered.

Thanks,

Hi Uwe,

I sent this message to meego-community-***@public.gmane.org

I'm pretty certain it will show up to subscribers to
meego-community-***@public.gmane.org, and in the archives here:
http://lists.meego.com/listinfo/meego-community

Why were you under the impression that this was 2 different lists,
rather than simply aliases?

Regards,
Dave.

*Betrifft:* [MeeGo-community] Porting gnome on meego-netbook
Hi all,
Did anyone know how to port gnome desktop on meego-netbook?
I have installed all gnome related packages on meego-netbook,but the
gnome didn't show normally,only gnome-panel shown.
Besides, I don't know this question should be mentioned in the right
mail list,so list it in the meego-community mail list.
Thanks.

you are right. I only should adjust my mail filter. Sorry for the noise.

Actually, like Uwe, I've also been caught out with my mail filters
regarding the two valid email addresses for each list (e.g.
meego-community-***@public.gmane.org and meego-community-***@public.gmane.org).

Is it possible to reduce this to just one valid address per list, and if
so, which style is preferred? I guess someone could look at stats
regarding which address style is used more frequently.

Cheers,

John

The preferred address is meego-community-***@public.gmane.org, since
we're trying to move the mailing lists to lists.meego.com, but we've
been keeping the meego.com addresses around for legacy purposes
to make it easy on people who have already added those addresses
to their contact lists.

Might I suggest filtering on the List-Id mail header? This is set by
Mailman, and is always the same:

List-Id: "Community Building and Infrastructure \(discussion list\)"
<meego-community.meego.com>

In Thunderbird, you need to add a filter for "Customise", then set the
header to parse to "List-Id" and the filter value to
"meego-community.meego.com", basta. Presumably other clients have
similar capacities.

Cheers,
Dave.

Thanks for that. I found it easier to change my filters from:

To: contains meego-community-***@public.gmane.org

to

To: contains meego-community@

which seems to work fine.

But still, the general principle of only having one email valid address
per list seems like a good idea. I'm happy if the preferred address is
meego-community-***@public.gmane.org (etc.), as Dawn says, but it looks like
most people are sending to meego-community-***@public.gmane.org (etc.) instead, so
this might be a painful migration process.

Cheers,

John
